Can this be done in Canada in a TFSA?
#Freedomlawschool
I didn't realize it could be self-custodied. Maybe talking about the advantages and disadvantages of this would be helpful. I've been a bitcoiner for some time now and haven't really heard much about this aspect (as you elude to others not recognizing it either).
While we are on this topic, let's not forget about the "backdoor/mega-backdoor" IRA option. It may take a bit of education and planning but could be quite worthwhile at some point in the future.
Thank you king, gonna binge down the rabbit hole on this before it's too late.
I don’t see a point in contributing non income producing BTC holding in traditional IRA, only ROTH
Luke the halving is closing in fast. What about the video we donated towards which you promised will be out before the halving?
i just can't be bothered to do it.. I'll just pay the taxes lol
If you have an existing IRA account, just get your 2023 contribution (max. $7500) into that account by 4/15/24. A wire transfer/ACH can take up to five business days, so you should hand deliver the payment to your existing IRA custodian office and get a receipt. Thereafter you can do a transfer from the existing account to the new self-directed IRA custodian at any time. There's no time limit or money limit on the transfer, because a custodian to custodian transfer is not a "contribution."
Thanks for the great video. Please could you put 'US' in the title if the video is specific to the United States.
I remember when I just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 I ended up selling it because I was dumb and I didn't understand it. I studied and learned and now I know how it works. Got back into crypto early in 2023 with 10k and I’m up with 128k in a short period of time. I'm especially grateful to Claret.
What about having in Canadian Etf TFSA?
