U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is demanding to know the way the Biden administration is doing in throttling using cryptocurrencies within the trafficking of fentanyl, in line with a letter she and one other lawmaker despatched to the White Home Workplace of Nationwide Drug Management Coverage and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Warren and Sen. Invoice Cassidy (R-La.) requested for updates on “actions to crack down on drug traffickers’ exploitation of crypto to develop their enterprise and launder their ill-gotten positive aspects,” the letter stated, arguing that “cryptocurrency has performed an more and more outstanding function within the world fentanyl commerce over the previous decade, each by way of facilitating the manufacturing and trafficking of fentanyl and in laundering drug cartels’ felony proceeds.”
