Authorities Freeze $3.5M in Crypto as Europol, DOJ Disrupt ‘SocksEscort’ Proxy Network

The investigation, which started in June 2025 beneath Europol’s Joint Cyberaction Job Drive, uncovered a botnet of contaminated units, primarily residential routers, exploited to facilitate felony actions together with ransomware, DDoS assaults, and the distribution of kid sexual abuse materials.
