The Whitney Museum of American Artwork has revealed the 56 artists, duos and collectives that can take part within the 2026 Whitney Biennial, the 82nd version of probably the most closely-watched recurring exhibition of up to date artwork in america. The exhibition, which opens 8 March 2026, will occupy a lot of the Whitney’s constructing in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District and embrace a full programme of performances, public occasions and on-line programming. Guerrero added in a press release: “With this Biennial, we hope to foreground a community of kinships that gesture towards types of coexisting on this world.”

The Whitney Biennial can even kick off a busy 12 months for the worldwide calendar of -ennials that features the Biennale of Sydney (14 March-14 June), MoMA PS1’s newest quinquennial survey of the native artwork scene Higher New York (16 April-18 August), the Venice Biennale (9 Might-22 November), Manifesta 16 (21 June-4 October), the Biennale de Lyon (19 September-December), the Toronto Biennial of Artwork (26 September-20 December) and the Gwangju Biennale (September-November).
