SEC suspected Ethereum was a security since 2018, new Consensys documents reveal

The Gary Gensler-led Securities and Trade Fee (SEC) started investigating Ethereum’s safety standing final 12 months, in accordance with an April 29 courtroom submitting by Consensys.

Subsequently, the SEC has issued subpoenas to quite a few people and entities with investments in Ethereum, together with Consensys.

Ethereum’s regulatory standing
