Unlikely, anything NFT is just not mainstream enough. I don't want anything NFT related be incorporated in games. The microtransactions the industry is trying to sell is already ridiculous enough. 🙅♂️🙅♂️🙅♂️
Yikes, not for me
My favorite physical CCG from the past, Spellfire, is also following this path, but this NFT stuff is just not for me.
I've thought about this before and wondered how do these kind of games handle free rewards? If I create a new account and get a free Legendary for logging in, what's stopping me trading that to another account and then repeating the process for infinite free Legendaries?
I'd play a STD based card game before I played an NFT based card game.
The issue is that NFT/crypto games are made around spending real money and have terrible gameplay. Its like the next trash coin people jump on to earn some money.
Amazing. Really well presented OG!
We need a democratic solution based on open source and ethereum dao's for example. Then everybody can run it's own servers but should be obligated by the open source licence to always use the original blockchain that's in the hand of the democratic dao. People can decide how the earnings are spent, development, art, servers etc.
The influence on the dao could vary between people, one might be more trustworthy then others so they should have more voting power and to have a initial amount of voting power you should need to buy into the project by donating to prevent manipulation from bots. With the time someone like Old Guardian would gain a high voting power from vouchers, if he does something bad the voting power from the vouchers will be decreased too. So everybody has either low voting power or does a good job either by voting in a good way for the project itself or vouching for other good people. That way there is no need for centralisation.
All of these game have bad to horrible gameplay. Not even mentionning the shaddy NFT crap.
parallel is a garbage dump full of randomness and disbalance
The gas fee issue is specific to L1s (blockchains) ETH and BTC. If other L1s with fixed, low gas fees (Hbar, for example) can gain prominence then this can significantly increase the validity of NFT trading card games.
Thanks for the informative explanation!
Amazing video OG!! Extremely well presented.
My estimate based on Pokemon TCGO is that costs per digital asset (e.g., per creation of a unique card code) have to be less than $0.0001
Cool brainstorm
